"Entertainment and Events" introduces entertainment and events only offered to those visiting Yonabaru Town.
We invite you to the culturally rich depths of Yonabaru Town by offering not only "Yonabaru Ootsunahiki" which is an event you can only see in Yonabaru Town but also Eisaa, Haarii (Okinawan dragon boat race), and Shishi-Mai (lion dance), which are all famous Okinawan traditional events .

Events

Yonabaru Ootsunahiki: The Yonabaru Ootsunahiki began as a prayer for a rich harvest, good health, and prosperity for decentants. Yonabaru Ootsunahiki is the biggest event in Yonabaru Town and has been handed down from generation to generation for more than 440 years.

Chanpuruu & Keibin-ichi: This event vitalizes the local shopping.

The Yonabaru Three Eisaa: Come! Let’s go and watch Eisaa in Itarashiki, Tousoe, and Youbaru which are called Yonabaru Three Eisaa on the night of Kyu-Bon.

The Tousoe Haarii: This is a traditional event held at each fishing port to pray for a big catch and maritime safety on May 4th according to the old Japanese calendar.

Yukata Festival: This event is hosted by the Yonabaru district social hospitality industry union.
This is a fun event and many people attend, both locals and non-Yonabaru Town residents.。
