It is held to vitalize the local shopping by providing fun opportunities with lots of ideas and product sales by Aitai-Uri (vendor and consumer negotiate product price).
The different shops are packed with crowds and sell a wide variety of goods including prepared foods, vegetables and plants.
There is also “Keibin Yaki” which is a special product of Yonabaru. “Keibin” means “light railway”, referencing the light railways which existed in Okinawa until World War Two and had three seperate lines that serviced Kadena, Itoman, and Yonabaru, which all went to Naha . The Yonabaru line brought many goods to Naha, since Naha was the main hub of the railways.
This event is held several times a year. Come and have fun!
